Everyone has read about it, and a lot of people seem to be glad with it. I’m not.
What am I talking about? The EU sued Microsoft because it would use it’s monopoly in operating systems so other companies wouldn’t get a chance with their products.
If you haven’t heard of it yet (where have you been?) you can read an article here or just use google. Now excuse me for saying this, but that’s bullsh*t. They are making MS sell windows without media player or internet explorer etc. Now I wonder myself…would I buy an operating system that can’t play a simple audio...

Valve has announced that they have banned another 30,000 steam accounts which had been used to try to illegally gain access to Valve games without a valid purchase. Only last month 20,000 accounts were banned for the same reason, only this time Valve states that, ‘The accounts that are disabled today will not be reactivated’.
There was quite a clever comment on the page too – I kinda agree with it:
If you can’t afford it, and you pirate it, it’s not a lost sale.
There would never have been a sale.
Well whatever the case, piracy evidently doesn’t always prevail…

ATI continued to make strong revenue gains during the first quarter of its 2005 fiscal year, with sales up 30.7 per cent year on year and 7.3 per cent sequentially.
In the three months to 30 November 2004, ATI made sales totalling $613.9m, up from the Q4 2004′s $572.2m and Q1 2004′s $469.7m. Q1′s sales were below the mid-point of the $600-640m range ATI forecast after reporting its previous quarter’s results.
Net income for the period totalled $63.7m (25 cents a share) up four per cent on the previous quarter’s $61.2m and 34.3 per cent on the year-ago quarter. Net...
“I finally wrote a somewhat in-depth review of Terra Soft’s Yellow Dog Linux 4.0. It’s basically a PowerPC port of Fedora Core 2. The good? Pretty modern software, and setup is a snap. The bad? RPM sucks as always, and there are a few too many things that are broken out of the box. Linux PPC; it’s a niche-within-a-niche, as I heard one Slashdot comment call it, but it may well be worthwhile if you’re annoyed by x86 hardware.”
I’ve never really used Linux, but it certainly seems to be catching on recently. People do favor the PowerPC processing as such,...
“According to an article at DesktopLinux.com, the first public beta of Opera 8 is available for free download. It adds voice input/output and a host of other niceties. Key new features include improved RSS handling, fit to window or paper width, a start-bar for easy access to the most commonly used functions, and automatic update checks. The beta release supports Windows only, but a general release is scheduled for early 2005. Opera and IBM have partnered on XHTML+Voice (X+V) technology for several years, co-announcing a Multimodal Browser and Toolkit early in 2003.”
Well, i’ve...
This was the first thing I saw when I logged in to gmail this morning. Looks like they’re expanding their bèta service again.

If you’re lucky enough to have your hands on Sony’s PSP you’ll be able to start watching downloadable movies on it from Friday. With not a UMD in sight (Sony hasn’t announced its plans for releasing movies on the system’s proprietary format yet) Japanese website PDA Cinema Contents will be offering downloadable flicks for your PSP from Friday – Christmas Eve.
The MPEG-4 video files are formatted especially for the PSP’s movie playback functionality. You’ll be able to download...
