JERUSALEM (Reuters) – Israel has released the first video footage of its Dimona nuclear plant, a television station said on Monday, in an apparent attempt to promote a positive image of what experts believe to be an atomic bomb factory.
The first published images of Dimona, snapped secretly by technician turned activist Mordechai Vanunu in the 1980s, led experts to conclude that the Jewish state had nuclear bombs.
Channel 10 television said its tape of the plant, to be aired on Friday, showed technicians in various non-military activities — mingling...

Taiwanese police have seized some 60,000 allegedly dud AMD processors believed to have been made ready for sale as fully functioning product.
However, over 1m re-marked chips may already have entered European and Asian sales channels.
According to local news reports, the chips were taken from the premises of a company named as Hao Hwa Technology following a tip-off from AMD’s Taiwanese operation. The CPUs, a mix of 32-bit and 64-bit parts, were said to be defective and earmarked for destruction.

Veteran developer surprised by granting of prestigious British honour
Lionhead founder Peter Molyneux has been made an OBE in the Queen’s New Years Honours list, with the honour being granted to the veteran developer for services to the computer games industry.
Speaking to the BBC, Molyneux expressed surprise at his naming on the list, saying that “it’s come completely out of the blue… I never would have guessed that I’d have that kind of honour.”
Molyneux founded Lionhead Studios in 1997, and since then has been instrumental in the creation of successful titles...
PARIS (AFX) – Ubi Soft Entertainment SA could receive government support in its fight against the threat of a takeover by US video games giant Electronic Arts (NASDAQ: ERTS – news) , La Tribune newspaper reported without naming its sources.
The government has been watchful for several months about the health of French video games studios, of which around 20 work for Ubisoft, the financial daily said.
The heads of the studios fear that a purchase of Ubisoft by EA would lead to the disappearance of the last decision making centre in France for the video games industry, La Tribune added.

At least 19 people have been killed in a series of car bomb explosions, one of which was in front of the party headquarters of interim Iraqi Prime Minister Iyad Allawi’s party.

A new Trojan horse – named Phel – that punishes users of Microsoft Windows XP operating system is in the wild.
Security software firm Symantec has issued a bulletin warning Windows XP users to be on the look out for the program, which is distributed as an .html file. The malicious code can attack systems running XP Service Pack 2. The vuln was first found in October, and Microsoft is busy trying to catch up to it.
