You’ll never believe this: Google launched a free web accelerator application for IE and FireFox!
How it works? from the faq:
How does Google Web Accelerator work?
Google Web Accelerator uses various strategies to make your web pages load faster, including:
- Sending your page requests through Google machines dedicated to handling Google Web Accelerator traffic.
- Storing copies of frequently looked at pages to make them quickly accessible.
- Downloading only the updates if a web page has changed slightly since you last viewed it.
- Prefetching certain pages onto your computer in advance.
- Managing your Internet connection to reduce delays.
- Compressing data before sending it to your computer.
I don’t know what to think, where does Google get these ideas?!
Download it here
*EDIT*
I’m impressed, I must say. I didn’t actually believe it would speed up things, but it does! (or my internet works faster today). And, another thing I was afraid of, it doesn’t look a ugly as in the screenshot above. I mean, it isn’t placed on such a bad way. As you can see in this screenshot.
lol, cool even tho 7.5 mins seems abit too much!!
I already have FireTune which speeds up my FireFox
but this seems to work quite well anyway, I save the
odd second or so…
Nono, the 7.5min is what he has saved in time so far. lol
I’m at 5.4min at the moment, and have had GAccelerator almost a day now.
lol yeah i know mines done 3.5 hours in a day!!
Thats obviously a lie!
