Apple Computer has been granted a patent for an enigmatically titled "Electronic device" Tuesday, May 10th, 2005. Illustrations for the device clearly indicate it to be a tablet-style Macintosh, and patent filings specifically compare it to the "HP Compaq Tablet PC" and several other tablet machines.
Obviously this being an Apple product its going to look damn amazing when it is produced.
Seems very interesting, there are some very interesting illustrations availaible on the article – as well as a further description;

Slashdot:
“The current issue of the Times Educational Supplement is running an article in which they cite a report by the British Educational Communications and Technology Association telling primary and secondary schools in the UK to dump Microsoft Operating systems and products in order to save millions. In a report to be published next week, obtained by The TES, Becta will highlight schools which have turned to free software instead of the market leader’s products. Becta does not name Microsoft in its analysis. But almost all schools use some of the company’s products. Their...

The truth is coming out?
A highly classified British memo, leaked in the midst of Britain’s just-concluded election campaign, indicates that President Bush decided to overthrow Iraqi President Saddam Hussein by summer 2002 and was determined to ensure that U.S. intelligence data supported his policy.
The document, which summarizes a July 23, 2002, meeting of British Prime Minister Tony Blair with his top security advisers, reports on a visit to Washington by the head of Britain’s MI-6 intelligence service.
The visit took place while the Bush administration was still declaring to the...

Damn!
Internet users in Hong Kong can now browse the internet at speeds that UK residents only dream about.
Hong Kong Broadband Network has launched a new ultra fast service. The symmetric 1Gbps service costs approximately £112 per month, but obliterates the kind of speeds we are used to in the UK. We are eagerly waiting for the rollout of an 8Mbps service and consider that to be fast.
While this kind of speed is unlikely to be available in the UK for some time, the possibilities for its use are immense. Large publishers could offer direct download services for their games, online gaming...
Hmm, 256mb hasn’t even caught on yet!
ATI announced their first 512MB graphics card, the X800 XL 512MB. I have some systems that don’t have more than 512MB of system memory, much less on a graphics card. According to AnandTech, the 512MB card can’t outperform its 256MB counterpart and costs 50% more. ATI’s favorite Half Life 2 showed the only real performance increase in the entire article. Overall a disappointment, especially because ATI for some reason didn’t outfit their highest end GPUs with 512MBs, only the mid-range X800 XL.”
Judging from their reviews...
