More Google Satellite Imagery

By DarthTibault

Google has hugely expanded the areas of the world that it covers with satellite imagery. Egypt, Iraq, mainland Europe and the UK have all now got satellite coverage to a lesser or greater degree

Great Great, you can now have a look at Buckingham Palace, The Eiffel tower, St. Peter in Rome, The Giza Pyramids, etc. Really nice pictures of interesting places. But why would those be my first search? Of course I want to see my own house first, duh, who wouldn’t?!
But…

I couldn’t find it because this ‘to a lesser or greater degree’ seems to point at only one country, you guessed it: MINE. While you have great detail on all satellite imagery, you can hardly see anything on that of Belgium: this is what I mean. You might think "Well zoom in, idiot" well sorry, but that doesn’t seem to work. There aren’t even maps (actually, there aren’t maps for any of the new countries). Never thought I’d say this, but: Damn you Google!
Oh well, guess that’s life…

PS: Usayd, I think you’re right, you should make a Google Category!

wow that is amazing - especially Iraq and Cairo! I can’t believe that - Google are kind’a rocking at the moment.
I won’t make a google category that would be doing them favors  Don’t worry they’ll eventually cover the whole world. I find it worrying that of all places they have done some Middle Eastern countries … :?:
