50 dead and 1000 injured after explosions on the Underground network and a double-decker bus in London.
A police spokesman said there were "quite a large number of casualties" at Aldgate Tube Station.
And Scotland Yard confirmed one of several reports of explosions on buses in the city – in Tavistock Place – but said the cause was not yet known.
One caller to BBC Five said his friend had seen "the bus ripped open like a can of sardines and bodies everywhere".
Update 15.50:-
Police say 40 have been killed and apparently Al-Qaeda has claimed the attacks (they exist??). Usayd Corporation officially condemns the attacks – and the MCB (Muslim Council of Britain) have also done so. It is not clear yet who is amongst the dead but there is a hotline avaliable (0870 1566 344).
I am very sad that such chaos has occured and I seriously condemn any attacks against innocent civillians. I am still, however, skeptic about the involvement of ‘Al-Qaeda’ whom are often the blame for many things and I hope further investigation will revelal the truth. >>> Update the toll is now more then 50 <<<

My response to the Guardian request of Muslim Youth Views:
Why have we Muslims been asked to comment on the bombings occurring in London? I had no idea they were going to happen, so why would I be questioned about the causes or the consequences of them? The answer is simple – apparently these bombings were carried out in the name of Islam, just like the attacks on the 11th September 2001.
Well here is my answer to that – I’m a Muslim, and if those who carried out this attack were ‘Muslims’ then I don’t want to be associated with them. Since when was a ‘bomb attack’ or ‘Terrorism’ associated with Islam? Islam is a religion of peace and the actions of individuals will never affect the real Islam. Islam means peace and submission and that is exactly what it is.
I personally think there are multiple motives to the attacks but whatever the reason they cannot be justified – especially not in the name of Islam.
The consequences, hopefully, will not be as bad as they were on September 11th although there have already been backlashes on the Muslim community. All I can say is we are as innocent as anyone else – I could give a thousand examples of where ‘Christians’ or ‘Jews’ carried out an attack on someone – yet the whole race of ‘Jews’ or ‘Christians’ were not targeted. I feel that it is time people started widening their horizons and actually dealing with such cases instead of pointing the finger at a religion or race.Usayd Younis – Altrincham – Young Muslims UK

In the same way that not all muslims should be considered terrorists, please don’t assume all “white brits” think that way. I’m ashamed of the way my country has been dealing with this situation, and sickened to hear that my fellow countrymen are attacking each other because of their religion.
It’s racism of the worst kind.
I’m glad that someone is saying the things you say, and I hope your blog will change the minds of some if the idiots who share my genetic traits.
Keep up the good work Usayd, there are plenty of people with you.
Hey jim, really nice to see a positive response from the actual community in the UK. I have felt upset too with the way this country, which is my country too, has been dealing with certain situations – especially the way we often seem to follow America’s approach to ‘Terrorism’ and the media’s huge brainwash operations!
Thanks!
