   Wow, just got back. This was brilliant. Best thing was- I came a few days after Usayd, which meant escaping stewarding duties. I’ll post some pics soon.

   Hey I got back just a few hours ago. You may not have come early - but all that means is that you missed out on all the fun!! Remember the thread in the forum which tells you how to post pics. By the way Qasim’s brothers came early - so really he’s a traitor I’m going to try and make a ‘Living Islam Aftermath’ possibly tomorrow.

   By Allah ’s will I was able to attend my second Living Islam Camp in as many years. Along with many brilliant brothers from Birmingham, Manchester and 1 from some where from the lost mountains of Wales and a very few from the Northern part of this great land in a place some call Scotland!!! I arrived very early to the Camp site to help put up tents and there was well over 350 (I should Know as I booked in the delivery for the tents!) the trials and test that we faced from the very first day that we were there was phenomenal for myself and my Imaan especially in terms of controlling myself in the form of my anger and my tongue. Alhamdulillah with the great people we had around us especially with the likes of Dr. Munir Ahmad and Attishaam Ali, too name a very few. May Allah be very please with them both for making such an event possible it came as second nature within a very short space of time, plus the fact that Attishaam brought us pizza’s managed to help me mellow and realise what I was there for, and nope it wasn’t the pizza’s!

   From Sunday until Wednesday with the sheer dedication of a fantastic group of almost what seemed like 60 dedicated soldiers (the brothers and a few sisters alike) we had managed to work though out the day putting up these 350 tents.
   With Allah ’s infinite wisdom, it rained for us while putting up these tents, which we did not realise at the time, was Allah ’s assistance in making the ground softer for us to pin in the tents. All praise’s are worthy only for Allah .
   Once the event started on Thursday … Subkhan-Allah it was awesome, with the talks, the entertainment, the attractions, the stalls, the food, the enjoyment in the air along with the feeling of everyone loving each other for the sake of Allah . The beautiful sight of watching the scouts in action, playing with one another, shouting their takbeer’s, The getting to know one another, the friendships that were made that I’m very sure that will last until we reach to our very last days until we Insha Allah will all meet again in Junah was simply amazing. All for learning about the beautiful religion that we all belonged to brought to us from Allah by, the our beloved Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W)

   The different themed nights within the cafe, the nasheeds in the background, the drums of the Fletcher Drummer Values banging, Native Deen strutting their stuff, the man with the blessed voice in Daud Whanasby Ali singing the energetic yet beautiful and extremely passionate Nasheeds that we have grown very fond of within our hearts. The various talks and lectures on a variety of issues and topics, the question and answer sessions, the gaining of such knowledge from people who have dedicated so much time and effort in researching this wonderful religion of ours, from Tariq Ramadan, Prof. Jamal Badawi, Sr. Sarah Joseph, Dr. Hani Al-Bana to name a few, that we have all greatly benefited from to even the Muslim deaf attendee’s which had fantastic sign language signers for them to understand this blessed deen and how we learned the difficulties they go through in getting that greater Sakinah from what Islam can offer to all our lives.

   Alhamdulillah the most moving experience for me in the Living Islam Camp, and there were many, many moving experiences was the Khutbah amongst Khutbah’s by the amazing Dr. Munir Ahmad. Being brought up in a predominately Pakistani Muslim culture within the Birmingham region are many mosques where the Imam’s reads in Urdu from a book going as fast as he possibly can to get the sermon over and done with, where as Dr. Munir did the Khutbah in English about the mercy of Allah and the compassion the Prophet (S.A.W), for a person like myself it is very difficult to get emotional, I almost cried I was that touched by it, and even 2 weeks after the Living Islam Camp has ended, this was the point that stuck out more than any other.

   Even more than the night Dr. Munir played cricket with a group of approximately 25 young brothers mostly under 20 years old, very late into the night in the prayer hall before we were about to pray Tuhajjad to Allah to allow his blessings for the event to run smoothly. Even for a wise and (I’m watching how I phrase my words now) older man, Dr. Munir matched many of the youth with his skills in playing cricket, both bowling and batting. Which many were very impressed by. Someone, mentioning no names, had offered a financial reward for the person who could get Dr. Munir out within the over, but Alhamdulillah, he managed to save me my money and it stayed well within my pocket! Jazak-Allah Khier Doc!

   It was and still is an experience that I will have for the rest of my life, that no one can possible take away from me that Allah Blessed me by “Living Islam� for the very short amount of time which has so greatly affected me as I’m sure it affected everyone else who attended this very special and sacred event.
   Even though sometimes intensions are not merely enough, a struggle is needed to provide such opportunities that we have been blessed by Allah to be able to create help take part in providing to everyone who wish’s to “Live Islam�.

   If you felt the living islam ‘event’ was good then try and spend 3 days in Jamaat and then you’ll realise what living islam means
