UNN Server Transfer

Okay i’m in detention (you can guess which kind of detention) so I thought I might aswell write why the server transfer. I hate my old webhost, they have the worst customer support and they have extremely few features. Well okay they are maybe for the more amateur user. I wanted a few main things, and one of these was mod_rewrite. I have had wordpress for a while and it did my head in so much because I couldn’t use nice permalinks! I contacted Netfirms repetedly and they refused to enable it. Other features that I hated was the fact that they had some crappy panel that they made themselves....

Iraq, to stay or not to stay?

I’m Iraqi, I’ve been to Iraq and believe me I know that the situation in Iraq at the current moment is definitely not better then it was before the war. Why, well think about it. You attacked a country and killed over 150,000 Innocent Civilians. Yeah that might look like ‘just a figure’ to you, but lets face it – we seem to care so much about every British/American soldier that dies (which is fine) but when do we think about the innocent Iraqi’s who were killed by our soldiers our countries and our politics. This isn’t just the situations caused by the...

Dumber then a Bush?

Back from the camp everyone Course I had some 30 emails to get through and there are a few about that President of the USA, what do they call him again? George Bush…the texan bafoon or something. Anyway quite a funny video, have a laff at him here. You probably all saw the note he wrote in the UN summit. And if you missed Tibault’s post about Michael Moore’s letter to people voting for him, its definately worth the read. Other:    Nuke ‘em if ya got ‘em: Given the Bush Doctrine’s fondness for shooting first and asking questions later, it’s...

MS Max Review

Ok I ain’t gonna lie, I downloaded and Installed MS Codename Max (they’re becoming obsessed with ‘codename’ now) thinking it was going to be prettey rubbish…and like usual I was very much right. Heres the little review I promised. Installation I downloaded the installer from the MS Max website at 117kb I knew that it was going to download the installation packages itself as it went on. It took me ages, I said it was installing and i’d write the review after i’d restart. Well it took so long to install (P4 2.4ghz 640MB Ram) that I got boerd and forgot about...

$40 Chips

No i’m not talking about chips that you eat, i’m talking about the price that it costs Intel to manufacture the average P4 computer processor chip: Though Pentium 4s can sell for up to $637, Intel’s average cost for making a chip comes to $40, according to a report from analysts In-Stat. The report doesn’t consider expenses related to design or marketing, or the fact that high-end chips can sell for more because fewer off the production line can actually run at top speed, but it does shed light on how Intel has managed to maintain healthy margins in an era of...

Michael Moore on Katrina

Michael Moore has written ‘A Letter to All Who Voted for George W. Bush‘: In which he asks the ‘Republicans, conservative, born-again, capitalists, ditto-heads, right-wingers’ what they think of Bush now; Now that a lot of americans have died in a (imho) useless war, and after the disaster that is Katrina. Do you believe in Jesus? Really? Didn’t he say that we would be judged by how we treat the least among us? Hurricane Katrina came in and blew off the facade that we were a nation with liberty and justice for all. The wind howled and the water rose and what...

eBay will buy Skype..damnit

Tibault, apologies from me – you were slightly more realistic!  London, September 12, 2005 – eBay Inc. (Nasdaq: EBAY; www.ebay.com) has agreed to acquire Luxembourg-based Skype Technologies SA, the global Internet communications company, for approximately $2.6 billion in up-front cash and eBay stock, plus potential performance-based consideration. The acquisition will strengthen eBay’s global marketplace and payments platform, while opening several new lines of business and creating significant new monetization opportunities for the company. The deal also represents a major...
