WordPress is a state-of-the-art semantic personal publishing platform with a focus on aesthetics, web standards, and usability. More simply, WordPress is what you use when you want to work with your blogging software, not fight it. Yeah good cut and paste job from the website, basically this website is powered by WordPress, I love it and I recommend it to anyone who wants to have a great dynamic website with great support. Anyway, the final version of 2.0 is released after much speculation and waiting, you can see it running on the UNN Testing Blog.
Most of the changes are in the administration panel so its recommended that you register on there if you want to see further. You can get the final version off the official WordPress website.
Update:
I have updated Usayd.com to WordPress 2.0, everything went fine, i’ve backed everything up (about time!) and so far so good
(delete usermeta.php if you were using that plugin – only issue I faced).
I’ve been reading bits and bobs on WP2 after reading this article, the updates sound really good. Looking forward to the new plugins
Not sure if and when I’ll upgrade myself. Are you planning to?
You should definately upgrade, I do intend to but i’ve got so many plugins running on this website that i’m going to check each one works on my WP testing site before I upgrade. From your site I can see that your not running that many plugins so I doubt that there will be any problems upgrading for you. Check the WordPress Support Forum which has a step by step tutorial to guide you through the upgrade.
Pause
Wordpress 2.0 has been officially released. There will be a pause in development of this website whist plugins and hacks are being tested on the UNN WP2 Testing Blog so that we can see if our websites running WordPress are suitable for upgrade.
Than…
Bush is forever saying that democracies do not invade other countries and start wars. Well, he did just that. He invaded Iraq, started a war, and killed people. What do you think? Is killing thousands of innocent civilians okay when you are doing a little government makeover?
Are we safer today than we were before?
The more people that the government puts in jails, the safer we are told to think we are. The real terrorists are wherever they are, but they aren’t living in a country with bars on the windows. We are.
True. but this is spam.
