Got an email today telling me to vote in this poll, naturally I went along to see what it was and what I saw really saddened me.

I could make a hundred excuses for the results of this poll, but let’s face it, Islam’s negative image in society is not something that Muslim’s should leave unnoticed. I have always said that the reason so many people feel this way about Islam is simply out of ignorance, lack of knowledge. There are too many people hearing, seeing and saying negative things about Islam with a discomforting lack of knowledge about the faith.

Who’s fault is it that this knowledge is not in the hearts of those who feel such a need to attack the religion of peace and submission?

Allah the Exalted says in the Qur’an: “And let not your hatred of a folk who (once) stopped your going to the inviolable place of worship seduce you to transgress; but help ye one another unto righteousness and pious duty. Help not one another unto sin and transgression, but keep your duty to Allah .” [5:2]

Of course the worst part is that there are so many ‘Muslims’ who haven’t got a clue about their own faith either, so this is an appeal to everyone who wants to judge Islam, first take your time to learn about it.
