Okay so i’m reading through my daily collection of mailinglist emails and yet again I come across an interesting article from the Information Clearing house. Yep I don’t fully agree with it – and the ideologies that the author has portrayed about Islam are, like usual, strangely foreign to anyone who actually has any idea about the faith -

A group of American security guards in Iraq have alleged they were beaten, stripped and threatened with a snarling dog by US marines when they were detained after an alleged shooting incident outside Falluja last month.
If they’re not beating up Iraqi’s – they’re beating up everyone else. Pathetic abuse of power which they don’t deserve!

06/06/05 "ICH" – - For years, Saddam was one of our government’s propped up and militarily supported puppets. Many people have seen the famous footage of Donald Rumsfeld shaking hands with Saddam. I suppose the two are smiling so big for the cameras because they are kindred spirits. Do the people of Iraq have the right to defend themselves against violent foreign invasion and occupation by any means at their disposal against an aggressive and rapacious enemy enjoying overwhelming military superiority?
This is a right Americans unquestionably would invoke were their country invaded and occupied by a foreign power. They would take whatever measures were necessary to defeat the enemy and force it to withdraw.
The United States government supports this position and recognizes its validity in relation to all other nations invaded by foreign aggressors–except...

A highly classified British memo, leaked in the midst of Britain’s just-concluded election campaign, indicates that President Bush decided to overthrow Iraqi President Saddam Hussein by summer 2002 and was determined to ensure that U.S. intelligence data supported his policy.
