Actions Speak Louder

If I swore I would swear, If I cursed I would curse But instead I release into directed lines of verse Stop messing with me, I don’t like to play games I love my brother but do you even know my name Who am I, what do I want to achieve in this life, Or is it assumed because we all go through strife. I hate being angry it’s from the devil you know But every time this happens my heart turns cold. We’re like a colony of ants without the strength That could lead us from heaven at an arms length Too far that is, not close enough to open up doors We’re building walls – no we’re falling...

Musings

I cut my finger on a can of sweetcorn whilst making an omelette, about half an hour ago. I almost fainted! It’s amazing. We think we are supreme, we think we own this small planet and yet the truth is we are so weak. You can laugh at me for admitting to the fact that I get pretty quezy with blood, or you can see the point i’m trying to make. When something happens all of a sudden we go from the strongest most ‘self-reliant’ beings to these hopeless people crying out for protection. This may mean nothing to you, often it takes an accident, illness or just being a witness...

18 years closer to death

I lived in Leeds for the first 10 years of my life. I was in primary school from reception to year 4 before moving to Manchester for the last two years. The internet is a powerful tool, and last week a classmate from my primary school in Leeds found me on Facebook. Since then I have been conversing with almost 20 people who I haven’t spoken to for over eight years. Then it hit me. I cried last night, in fact I wept for 18 years to day my concept before Allah I begged, I cried grant me your mercy before I die tears hit the cold hard floor interruption – a knock on the door bright white...

Usayd Networks

Basically heres the score: This academic year is really important and I need to secure some good A Level results (God willing) in order to get into a decent course at University. This means that unfortunately I won’t be updating the website in the near future. All the archives will remain. For enquiries, contact me directly. I’ll leave you with a design I did recently, something I learnt how to do as part of my work experience at emel magazine this summer.

Wats going on here?

Peace… Firstly, apologies. I haven’t updated this site for like 2 months and frankly I am embarrased. Thanks for the emails and stuff saying “this doesnt work”, “why’s this broken”. Apparently I need to spend more time on my own website instead of wasting it on others. Oh and apparently I have AS exams in like 2 weeks and I’m sat at the PC. So yeah i’m kinda dead. Here’s my promise. After my exams I will do something about this website. It will probably involve re-templating from scratch, a huge amount of messing with the database because...

Could it all be so simple now?

Been having some random thoughts recently, and someone was requested I wrote something again…so here goes, what’s on my mind? Well as you can see from the pictures, I’ve been browsing some Palestine groups on Flickr and there are plenty of striking images – almost like contrasts between good and bad. What’s funny is that the “Good” and the “Bad” can be heavily inverted by the media. My question is this – couldn’t it just be simple? Lets not go into the details of the conflict, we’ve done that already. Just look at the pictures...

Apparent truth

Peace I was looking at some streetart on flickr when I spotted this rather interesting piece. It immediately struck me as something from the artist Banksy, and it depicts a ‘teddy’ bear with a Molotov cocktail in attacking position. If you look at the full wall you will actually see that it is aiming at three British riot police, with the caption ‘The Mild Mild West’. There are many different conclusions you can draw from this, and really that is what makes real art. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words, and the real artists are those who depict that. Probably...
