I have been working pretty hard on the Islamic Praise plugin and I am already releasing a new version of the plugin.

There is now a much wider variety of images to choose from, 27 in total. I have commented the plugin file to make it easier for you to understand and customise and I have also updated the structure of the file itself a little. A demo page has now been set up to make it easier to see what outputs you will get when you enter the word.
Download the latest version of the plugin, check it out here.

<strike>edit apparently not, the /author/ bug still remains and my 200OK errors are still there. How annoying.</strike>

Edit 2

Both the 200OK messages and the /author/ bug were coming from the Permalink Redirect plugin which I was using. I updated it to the latest version but that only fixed the 200OK messages and not the /author/ problem. I have de-activated it now and everything is working fine.

Peace be with you all

I have recently been working on a new plugin. I started this plugin because it is the month of Ramadan in the Hijri (Islamic) calendar and I thought it would be nice to show what was posted in each month on the Hijri Calendar. Thankfully I had already acquired a script which calculated the hijri date using PHP in the past so my main aim was to implement this in the plugin to make it calculate the hijri date as well as the georgian date.

This plugin is a much more complicated one then my first ones; Random Hadith and Random Qur’an. I wanted to be a little ambitious so I made this new plugin have a few extra features.

Find out more on the Hijri Date Plugin page.

The Core Pocket Media Player (formerly Betaplayer) is said to be the world’s most popular Open Source Media Player for the PocketPC, PalmOS and Smartphone mobile devices. It is designed to make it easy for the mobile media community to play all their digital media without restrictions.

It’s a wonderful and more robust — FREE — alternative to Windows Media Player — if you need an alternative for some reason (like your videos won’t play full-screen after your hx4700 ROM update.)

    Supported file containers
– AVI (*.avi)
– Matroska (*.mkv, *.mka)
– MP4 (*.mp4, *.m4a)
– Ogg Media (*.ogg, *.ogm)
– ASF (*.asf)

    Supported audio codecs
– Mpeg 1 LayerIII
– AAC (Advanced Audio Coding)
– Ogg Vorbis
– Musepack
– Windows Media Audio (on Windows Mobile devices)
– AC-3
– AMR
– Adpcm, uLaw

    Supported video codecs
– DivX
– XviD
– MPEG4-SP (plus B-frame support)
– MPEG1
– M-JPEG
– Windows Media Video (on Windows Mobile devices)

A little tip — after installation, the player shows-up on your PROGRAMS menu as TCPMP (The Core Pocket Media Player) — just in case you were looking for it.

“WordPress, an incredibly popular Open Source Blogging system was found to be spamming google by inserting hidden links to junk content on high paying Adsense keywords such as mesothelioma and debt consolidation. Following Threadwatch picking up the story an anonymous Google rep appeared in the original thread admonishing bloggers not to use sneaky tactics to rank highly for “duplicate content” such as the 100,000 hidden articles on the WordPress site. The articles have now dissapeared from Google and it remains to be seen whether Google will ban WordPress outright as they tend to do when SEO’s and web dev’s pull these kinds of stunts.”
