MSN Application Monitor

I was really hyped up when I started using Xfire – an IM Client which shows your buddies when your playing and what your playing. It has been developed to do much more then that, but I always wondered if that would ever be possible with MSN Messenger. Well now it is, with MSN Application Monitor – a 3rd Party software which allows you to have your personalised message determined by running software. You can get this from Mess.be, and it has been compiled as a very simple application consisting of only a .exe and an XML file. Its really easy to understand and there has been a...

First Google Maps, now Google Earth

Google has launched Keyhole 3, rebranded Google Earth, and has dumped the subscription rate (except for a $20/year "plus" version with prettier pictures and a commercial $400 "pro" version) available now at earth.google.com. The program lets you fly around a 3D globe, with overhead satellite photos, tilted 45-degree photos, 3D rendered buildings, and overlays that display everything from roads to hotels to bike routes. You can compare it with NASA WorldWind (what I’ve been using till now) but with Google’s satellite imagery and more features. You can read a nice...

More Google Satellite Imagery

Google has hugely expanded the areas of the world that it covers with satellite imagery. Egypt, Iraq, mainland Europe and the UK have all now got satellite coverage to a lesser or greater degree Great Great, you can now have a look at Buckingham Palace, The Eiffel tower, St. Peter in Rome, The Giza Pyramids, etc. Really nice pictures of interesting places. But why would those be my first search? Of course I want to see my own house first, duh, who wouldn’t?! But… I couldn’t find it because this ‘to a lesser or greater degree’ seems to point at only one country,...

Schmidt spoke after several days of heated speculation over reports that Google was working on a potential rival to PayPal, eBay’s popular online payment system. Reuters  Well what is this in my opinion? Just another development from Google’s fast growing ‘e-conomy’ (thought of that...

Royal iPod

ELIZABETH the Second, by the Grace of God, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and of Her other Realms and Territories Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, and Defender of the Faith, has bought a nice looking and reassuringly expensive iPod. Article Here  lol okay thats all a bit random but it does just show how a simple MP3 player has made such an effect on the world. If you read the rest of the article you will see that ‘The Inquirer’ do not seem to be very keen on the Queen, at least by the fact that she doesn’t like the way her head is on the currency...

Britney Spears Ranked Top Virus Celebrity

The two ways for an email virus to spread is to use an exploit, or entice the user to click the link/executable. Of course the latter is the easiest, and is the most effective when used in conjunction with a celebrity’s name. Despite the recent Jackson suicide emails, Britney Spears is the one to recently edge out Bill Gates as the top virus celebrity. The top 10 (in descending order): Britney Spears, Bill Gates, Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, Osama Bin Laden, Michael Jackson, Bill Clinton, Anna Kournikova, Paris Hilton, and Pamela Anderson. PCWorld Article  Well it seems likely because...
