The attacks on Fallujah, the small town near the city of Baghdad, were the headlines of this time last year’s news. Now it has hit again with even more claims of total disregard to the UN convention. UNN wrote about the Fallujah Napalm case last November. Thousands of Iraqis have lost their lives to the stupidity of this war, I think its time the world spoke out.
“Bodies melted away before us.”

Powerful new evidence emerged yesterday that the United States dropped massive quantities of white phosphorus on the Iraqi city of Fallujah during the attack on the city in November 2004, killing insurgents and civilians with the appalling burns that are the signature of this weapon.

Ever since the assault, which went unreported by any Western journalists, rumours have swirled that the Americans used chemical weapons on the city.

On 10 November last year, the Islam Online website wrote: “US troops are reportedly using chemical weapons and poisonous gas in its large-scale offensive on the Iraqi resistance bastion of Fallujah, a grim reminder of Saddam Hussein’s alleged gassing of the Kurds in 1988.” By Peter Popham | 11/08/05 | “The Independent”

A must see ‘documentary’ looking into the situation really does explain a lot concerning the total indiscriminate effects of the weapons used in Fallujah. One veteran says “Bodies melted away before us.”

The US military on Wednesday acknowledged it might have killed civilians in the Iraqi city of Falluja with white phosphorus munitions during the battle against insurgents a year ago. ICH

Given the Bush Doctrine’s fondness for shooting first and asking questions later, it’s not surprising that the military brass drafted a document titled "Doctrine for Joint Nuclear Operations" that incorporates nuclear weapons into the mix. But outside the insular mind-set of the Pentagon, American citizens ought to be shouting, "Don’t even think about it!"

A nuclear weapons programme (or even a civil nuclear energy programme) can be seen as a threat. So can a dictatorship. When the two are combined you have a case for preventive war.

Apple are releasing things left right and centre. They really have caught both the media – and the general publics attention with their range of MP3 players – starting with the 1st generation of iPods. Well today I got an email when I got home from Tibault, apologising that he couldn’t write any articles today but that I should write about this:

Its funny, y’know – how many times Apple have released an item under the name iPod. That word is word renouned – it’s used in films, music, television, at least 80% of the world know what an iPod is or have heard of one. I’m happy that Apple did well on their iPod range, my brother has one and he’s happy with it – however I know many people who buy iPods and put like 100 songs on it, totally defeating the point and need for one, so it can be argued that they are also used as a fashion accessory. Whatever the reason you have one, iPods are certainly a symbol of not only MP3 players – nor Apple, but the whole Music industry!

 Lets just see how long the ‘iPod’ name lasts…

This iPod nano has replaced the iPod mini on the iPod shelf, they must have realised that no one who wanted less then a 20gb – wanted a 6gb either. So they made a few wise descisions. Firstly they knocked out that ugly iPod mini shape and colour. Secondly they installed a decent colour screen which is no longer expensive due to the increase of them around the market. Thirdly they made the nano have 2gb and 4gb capacities instead of the previous capacities of 4 and 6. Another major improvement of course, is the size of the thing – and the fact that it is now based on Flash memory, the near futures vesatile memory source.

 Of course i’ve already signed up and I must say it seems to be quite an efficient way of hosting videos. It shows them in a fast streaming flash embed. You can comment on the videos, and of course like flickr, you can add tags for easy searching as well as ‘buddies’ and private videos too – for friends and family. The best thing is that you can just watch videos in an instant without waiting forever which is usually the case, and you can see such a wide variety – from funny to serious.
