More Explosions in London!

  A number of Tube stations have been evacuated and lines closed after three blasts in what Met Police chief Sir Ian Blair says is a "serious incident". Sir Ian appealed to Londoners to stay where they were and said the transport system was effectively shut down. The minor explosions used detonators only, a BBC reporter said. In addition, a Number 26 bus in Hackney Road in Bethnal Green had its windows blown out by a blast. There were no injuries. BBC News

50 dead and 1000 injured after explosions on the Underground network and a double-decker bus in London. A police spokesman said there were "quite a large number of casualties" at Aldgate Tube Station. And Scotland Yard confirmed one of several reports of explosions on buses in the city – in Tavistock Place – but said the cause was not yet known. London gets 2012!

  Well I am happy to say that London has won the bid to host the Olympics in the year 2012! This will be the first time the Olympics have been held in this country since 1948!  London won the two way fight with Paris by a remarkable 54 votes to 50 at the International Olympic Committee meeting in Singapore after bids from Moscow, New York and Madrid were eliminated. Israel, Palestinians agree to demolition

US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has secured an agreement from Israel and the Palestinians for settler homes to be razed after the Gaza Strip pullout. Rice said on Sunday that both sides agreed that the homes occupied by about 8000 illegal Jewish settlers would do little to address the housing needs of the 1.3 million Palestinians living in the occupied territory.
